[2//29] Hurricane!

Today was the day the world almost ended.
But let me back up.
Joshua, Katherine & I took a road trip. First, we made sure the car had enough oil in it.

Then we drove 3 hours to Rebecca & Nick’s apartment in New Jersey. There we ate hotdogs for lunch and chatted about life and sports and weddings, since in fact, that is why we drove down to NJ in the first place. (Sidenote: This is my first time in NJ. Important fact.)

Time for the rehearsal! Driving to the church, Bria (Becca’s sister/MOH) gave me a present.
Look, I’m official!

After the rehearsal, Best Man Joshua was appointed Keeper of the Rings. (Don’t know why, but he better not lose them.)

THEN THE WORLD ALMOST ENDED. (Look, lighting! I took 100 pics to get this one.)

As we were driving to the rehearsal dinner, the most INSANE crazy scary windy hail-y hurricane-y weather descended upon us and scared the living daylights out of the whole town of Wherever-we-were.

We arrived at the restaurant, soaking wet from the 2 second run from the car, and LOW AND BEHOLD the power was out. And the hostess said “SORRY! No dinner for you!” We waited for the storm to (sort of) pass and tried to find another place to eat.

We did find another place, but we had to brave the weather again to get there. Drive through 3 foot puddles. Dodge pea-sized hail. You know, the tough stuff. But we made it, in one piece, a little wet, but alive. We ate, we talked, we had a good time. And we ate more. Rebecca & Nick practiced cutting a cake. Then we ate it. Delish.

And there you have it! The day the world almost ended. And now we’re sitting at Becca’s house in sweatpants eating chocolate covered strawberries. This is the life.

Also: Nice first impression, New Jersey. Oh wait, not. =)
