[makings of a home]

09/06/2012

Remember this post, the one when I revealed I was using a CrockPot box as my night stand? Well, luckily two months have gone by and that isn’t the case anymore. Among other great things.

Welcome to our small, little, very tiny, but very homey apartment. Complete with mix-matched curtains and way too many paintings on the walls. The decor is what normal not-so-stylish newlywed decor probably looks like (or at least tell me it always looks like this to make me feel better). The quilt is from my aunt. The coffee table from my parents. Patterns take over the place. French doors are everywhere, as is the perfect afternoon light, and a lonely rocking chair chills on the front porch we share with our upstairs neighbor.

It doesn’t really look like Nate lives here. If you walked in you’d be hit with a wall of Stephanie. We’re working on making it more classy and sophisticated (which are totally Nate-traits and not so much Stephanie qualities =) ). Until then, we’ll come home every evening to a place that is ours, that we can enjoy together, snugglin’ on the new couch watching Harry Potter and drinking hard cider. Because, you know, that’s what normal newlyweds do, right?

If you’re wondering, yes, we do have a bathroom and a kitchen/dining room. But they’re totally ugly. I only showed you the mostly-put-together areas. =) I have that freedom as blog queen!

=)

What’s you favorite room in your house? Our is quickly becoming the living room with that awesome new comfy couch.
