[d&d//in my heart] Easter.

Jesus didn’t deserve to die. One of the criminals hanging on the cross next to Jesus said it “We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”  (Luke 23:41). But Jesus knew that God had called Him to do. And so he hung there, taking upon his shoulders all the things I’ve done wrong, and setting me free from those sins. And wow, what a huge blessing that was. Thank you, Lord.

But then, the coolest part of the Easter story is actually the main part of the Easter story: That Jesus rose from the dead! He defied death. (What a great word: defied. So powerful.) Anyways, Romans 6:8-9 says “Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.” So that means that I serve a living God. Not just right now, but forever. He cannot die again. He is a God I am able to pray to, and he hears me. He listens. He responds. He loves. He forgives.

And that is why there is a holiday we call Easter. I hope you all have a happy one =)
